Many people think that travelling from the United Kingdom to New York City would be expensive. Can you blame them? It sounds expensive. When most people think of the United Kingdom, London is the first city that pops into their heads. Combine that with New York City and you have visions of glamorous dining, upscale shopping, amazing museums, some of the most entertaining shows in the world, and an overall atmosphere of class. But what most people don’t realize is the type of city you’re flying to or from doesn’t determine that cost of a flight. If anything, it’s the opposite. For instance, New York City is so large and has so many travellers that almost every airline flies there. This means the airlines will make more money. This, in turn, is a benefit to the traveller. Since there is so much business, there will always be cheap flights to New York. A smaller city like Charlotte, North Carolina, doesn’t get nearly as much traffic. Therefore, flights into and out of Charlotte will almost always be more expensive.

The good news is that flights from the UK to NY can be found for cheap. We’re not talking cheap like the cost of a piece of Bazooka Bubble Gum, but we’re talking cheap compared to flights to and from other cities around the world. Before we get into prices, you should know the general seasons and the affect they have on prices. The early summer season is from May 1 to July 16. The peak summer season is from July 17 to August 31. And the late summer season is from September 1 to September 30. Any time other than these three seasons, prices will be cheapest. Of the three summer seasons, late summer is the cheapest and peak summer is the most expensive. If you’re travelling to take a holiday (or vacation), try to fly to NY in the winter. As long as you avoid January and February, the weather shouldn’t be of much concern.

The best deals you will find for flights from the UK to NY will be online. In order to receive the best prices, you will have to book online or by phone – usually online through sites such as dealchecker.co.uk. At the current time, it’s possible to find flights from the UK to NY for as low as 259 pounds – round trip. You might have to travel at odd times of the day, but this is still well worth it. And you will only find such a low price if you’re flying out of London. Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Edinburgh are only slightly more expensive, so they’re decent options as well.
