I actually could not believe that Beachwalkers Park is listed in Top 10, it is the beach I was on in the begininng of this month:] Wonderful Island by the way and yes, for those who don't like crowds, it is a prefect location. For those who prefer to show off a little among others, I recommend any of Southampton beaches, the town is almost as designer as Manhattan! I also enjoyed Rockaway in New York, it is a typical " city beach " that reminds me a bit of my 5 year stay in Sydney, Australia. Great selection! Just today, in New Hampshire news (7/15/10), someone reported seeing a mountain lion - but without more evidence, Fish & Game won't be able to do much to investigate it. I for one am lucky enough to live in Venice Beach California so I can just walk outside and I'm relaxing on the beach in a matter of minutes. However,for travelers there are always deals to be found on Venice Beach hotels within walking distance to all the free attractions like the canals, the boardwalk and the pier, not to mention catching some rays on the beach. If you have an RV or van, many of the streets of Venice allow overnight parking (for free). Just be careful to read the posted signs about when you can park there.
